(THIS PORTION OF CRAM'S MAP OF NORTH CAROLINA SHOWS THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE STATE, AND THE AREA SETTLED BY THE BOONE, BRYAN, AND SPARKS FAMILIES IS ACCENTED BY THE SHADED CIRCLE. THESE FAMILIES FIRST SETTLED, IN THE 1740'S AND 1750'S, IN WHAT IS NOW DAVIE COUNTY, EAST AND SOUTH OF MOCKSVILLE, NEAR THE DAVIDSON AND ROWAN COUNTY LINES, IN THE FORKS OF THE YADKIN RIVER. THE PARENTS OF DANIEL BOONE ARE BURIED NEAR MOCKSVILLE. MORGAN BRYAN ALSO OWNED LAND ON THE YADKIN RIVER NEAR WILKESBOR0, IN WHAT IS NOW WILKES COUNTY. BRANCHES OF THE SPARKS FAMILY SETTLED IN WHAT IS NOW WESTERN YADKIN AND EASTERN WILKES COUNTIES IN THE 1760'S, WHILE IT WAS STILL A PART OF ROWAN COUNTY. LATER GENERATIONS REMOVED TO ADJOINING COUNTIES, AS WELL AS TO OTHER STATES, BOTH NEAR AND FAR.)
