DEATH TAKES 23.4.2.6 JOHN ANDERSON SMITH SPARKS



Again we must report the passing of one of the older members of the Association.

23.4.2.6 John Anderson Smith Sparks of Norwood, Missouri, was born September 28, 1878, and died on February 12, 1965. Mr. Sparks was a son of 23.4.2 James Richard and SusanAnn (Abshere) Sparks. His picture appeared in the March, 1963, issue of the Quarterly, Whole No. 41, and a record of his ancestry was published after the picture. His wife, Vernie E. Raney Sparks, and his three daughters:

23.4.2.6.1 Nellie Sparks,
23.4.2.6.4 May Del Sparks, and
23.4.2.6.5 Doris Sparks,

survive him. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, north of Norwood.

DEATH TAKES 1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5.9 MRS. CECIL CROWELL


It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mrs. Cecil Crowell, widow of Earl Crowell, of Orient, Illinois. She was a charter member of The Sparks Family Association. Mrs. Crowell was born May 30, 1900, and died December 2, 1964. She was a daughter of 1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5 George and Elizabeth (Painter) Sparks, and a granddaughter of 1.2.5.1.2.9.5 Hugh and Nancy (Curnutte) Sparks of Carter and Lawrence Counties, Kentucky. by her first husband, Netter Stewart, Mrs. Crowell had two sons who survive her:

1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5.9.1 George Stewart and
1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5.9.2 William Stewart.

She is also survived by three sisters:

1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5.8 Mrs. Hazel Bird (Sparks) Donaldson,
1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5.5 Mrs. Ethel (Sparks) Bowden, and
1.2.5.1.2.9.5.5.11 Mrs. Hattie Elizabeth (Sparks) Pressler.

Mrs. Donaldson and Mrs. Bowden live in Hurst, Illinois, while Mrs. Pressler lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
