WILLIAM SPARKS, BORN IN DEVONSHIRE, ENGLAND, 1873
The following biographical sketch appears in the History of Michigan by Charles Moore, published in 1915 (Vol. II, page 779): "William Sparks, born Devonshire, England, May 9, 1873, came to the United States, age 12, with parents, George E. and Elizabeth (Way) Sparks. In the fall of 1900 he became one of the organizers and founders of The Sparks-Withington Company. He was a Mason and an Episcopalian. He married Miss Matilda ["Tillie"] J. Peters, August 24, 1894. Their issue:
Harry G. Sparks, born August 28, 1895, and
Clifford A. Sparks, born October, 1897."
