RICHARD SPARKS, BORN ca. 1700, INDENTURED SERVANT
A volume entitled A List of Emigrants from England to America, 1718-1759, compiled by Jack and Marion Kaminkow, published by the Magna Charta Book Company in Baltimore in 1964, contains a reference found in the compilers' research in England to a Richard Sparks who was 34 years old in 1734 (thus born ca. 1700). He was a carpenter from the parish of Bristol. In order to come to America, this Richard Sparks indentured himself to work for four years after his arrival to pay for his passage. His passage was paid by a Neale MacNeale of London to the Colony of Jamaica. His indentured service was to begin on August 12, 1734.
We have no knowledge of this Richard Sparks beyond this record.
