SPARKS HOUSEHOLDS APPEARING ON THE
1840 CENSUS OF MICHIGAN
Michigan became a state in 1837, and when the 1840 census was taken, it was found that there were nine Sparks households within its borders. A record of these households is given below. The reader is referred to page 3329 of the Quarterly, Whole No. 144, for information regarding the 1840 census. A record of the one Sparks household appearing on the 1830 census of Michigan Territory appears on page 3334, Whole No. 144. A record of the persons named Sparks (Sparkes and Spark) appearing on the 1850 census of Michigan was published in in the Quarterly of September 1983 (Whole No. 123, pp. 2543-48).
